I’m currently a Developer Advocate at IBM. I specialize in geospatial, data science hacking with Spark and Python, and data wrangling. I like to think I played a major role in pioneering Web mapping-as-a-service in the late 1990s with Syncline, a startup I co-founded. After that I finished his PhD in Urban Planning at MIT, exploring the potential of web services to power urban information systems. Prior to joining IBM in 2014, I worked on geospatial data interoperability challenges for the Open Geospatial Consortium.
